Louis Noël

Louis was born in Namur in 1994. He began studying the violin at the age of 5 at the Balthazar Florence Conservatoire with Cécile Delvingt. He then joined the ‘Young Talents’ section at the IMEP (Institut supérieur de Musique et Pédagogie). He stayed on to study for his baccalauréat with Igor Tkatchouk and his master’s with Marc Danel. At the same time, he studied law for a few years at the University of Namur.

After obtaining his Master’s degree from the IMEP, he decided to study with Hed Yaron Meyerson at the Rotterdam Conservatory: Codarts. He also took masterclasses with great violinists such as Alexei Moshkov, Kerson Leong, Maria Milstein, Yossif Ivanov, Hélène Collerette, Robert Ushida, George Tudorache, Joe Puglia, Letizia Sciarone and Gilles Millet.

Since 2024, he has been teaching violin and sight-reading at the conservatoire in Luxembourg City. Every month, he travels to the International School of Music and Dance in Rabbat, Morocco, to give masterclasses.

In addition to teaching, he devotes himself to the orchestral practice, which enables him to perform with orchestras such as the Belgian National Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orkest in The Hague, the Noord Nederland Orkest, the Phion Orkest van Gelderland en Overijssel, the Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the Young Belgian Strings, the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands, the Hagse Kamer Orkest, the Orchestre de la Francophonie in Montreal, the young Franco-German Philharmonic and many others.

These experiences have enabled him to perform in venues such as the Muziekverein in Vienna, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Doelen Rotterdam, the Queen Elisabeth Chapel, Bozar, the Centre for Oriental Art in Shanghai, the Philharmonie in Luxembourg, the Bayreuth Opera, the Stadthalle Wuppertal, the Atheneum in Bucharest, and many other prestigious venues.

He has won several national and international prizes, as well as the ‘Fonds Thirionet’.

Louis plays on an instrument made in 2023 by French luthier Antoine Cauche, on loan from Strings For Talent, a fund under the patronage of the King Baudouin Foundation.
