Aleksandra Czarnocka is a polish cellist living currently in Brussels. Born in Warsaw, Poland, she began her cello studies at the age of nine. She graduated from The Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz, Poland in class of prof. Dominik Połoński and prof. Tomasz Daroch. In June 2022 she earned her Master’s Degree Cum Laude at Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels in prof. Viviane Spanoghe’s class. She was perfecting her cello playing under the watchful eye of recognized musicians such as prof. Michael Flaksman, prof. Jeroen Reuling, prof. Arto Noras, prof. Alexander Gebert, prof. Olsi Leka, prof. Matts Lidstrom, prof. Raphael Bell, prof. Cecylia Barczyk and others. She participated in chamber music masterclasses as well, learning from members of ensembles such as Quatuor Danel, Prazak Quartet, Kuss Quartet, Camerata Quartet and Oxalys Ensemble.
Aleksandra expresses her love for music by participating in projects of various genres and styles. She has performed in musical venues such as Centre for Fine Arts – Bozar Brussels, Love2Arts Gallery Antwerp, Stadtcasino Basel, MiM Brussels, Concert Hall Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi Turin, The Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre of Music, Tonhalle Zurich and others. Recently she has been cooperating with ensembles such as: L’Ensemble Orchestral Européen, ONJ Luxembourg, Simonyan Quintet and Trio La Senne. She was a member of Warsaw Camerata, Royal Symphony Orchestra Warsaw, Santander Orchestra Academy and was academist of National Forum of Music Wroclaw Philharmonic. Specially devoted to modern music, she performed a lot though Poland under the “Music of Our Times” programme for contemporary music.
As a soloist and chamber musician Aleksandra is a laureate of numerous prizes such as Ist prize at eMuse Competition Athens, III prize at Stockholm International Music Competition, IInd Prize at V. Poltareva’s International Competition in Lviv, Ukraine or IInd prize at Cello Competition in Ełk, Poland and she was as well a semifinalist of prestigious International Benedetto Mazzacurati Cello Competition in Turin. She made recordings for the DUX and Spivart phonographic companies.
Since 2023 Aleksandra plays on a cello made in 1863 by Charles Plumerel on loan from Strings For Talent and the King Baudouin Foundation.
