
Ting-Wei Wu (Taipei, 2000) began playing the violin at the age of six. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel under the tutelage of Prof. Yossif Ivanov and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in orchestral playing at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Prof. Susanna-Yoko Henkel.
Ting-Wei has performed in masterclasses for renowned violinists including Dmitri Ivanov, Marc Danel, Aiko Mizushima, Anton Miler, Olivier Charlier and Henja Semmler. In addition, she has participated in string quartet coaching sessions led by Florian Schötz and Frank Reineke. In 2021, she received a scholarship from Académie Internationale d’été de Nice in France, where she took part in a masterclass given by Olivier Charlier.
An enthusiastic orchestra musician, she has been a member of Youth Orchestra Flanders since 2019 and joined Young Belgian Strings in 2022. During the 2023-2024 academic year, she served as concertmaster of the conservatory orchestra and was an academist with both the Belgian National Orchestra and La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra. She is now a member of the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra.
Ting-Wei plays a Gand & Bernardel Fres violin, dated 1878, lent by Strings For Talent, a fund under the patronage of the King Baudouin Foundation, thanks to the generous support of Dr. Anouk Etienne.
